The Field of Dreams Foundation is committed to furthering children’s development and enjoyment of the great game of baseball. We are dedicated to improving the lives of Gaston County’s youth by providing the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of baseball from top college players in a fun, safe environment. Through this experience, children will gain the necessary leadership, teamwork, and disciplinary skills needed to succeed both on and off the field.

The Gastonia Grizzlies Training Academy is an annual weeklong baseball training camp held at Sims Legion Park. Participants will receive instruction from Grizzlies head coach Eli Benefield, his coaching staff, and Grizzlies players on hitting, fielding, base running, and pitching. Along with instruction from top college players from across the country, campers will receive lunch and a drink each day, a Grizzlies t-shirt, and tickets to the Grizzlies game at the end of the week. Children in need of the proper equipment to attend camp will be provided with brand new bats, gloves, batting gloves, and helmets.
Gastonia Grizzlies baseball games provide the perfect atmosphere for children to let loose with their friends, participate in on-field promotions, receive autographs from players, and watch their role models in a fun, safe environment. The Field of Dreams Foundation makes this possible by providing each child with a ticket to the game, each receiving a food voucher for a hot dog, chips and a drink.
We believe that baseball, and athletics in general, is a very effective tool for teaching teamwork, leadership skills, work ethic, and responsibility to today’s youth. If we can instill these qualities, we will play a large roll in helping to steer them down the right path towards achieving their dreams. By reaching out to the future of Gaston County, we are building the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.
In order for these goals to be attainable, the Field of Dreams Foundation relies on monetary donations from individuals as well as local and regional business and corporations. Please click here for more information on how you can impact a child’s life today. |
